China, July 1, 2021-STMicroelectronics (ST; NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving multiple Electronic applications, announces and uses its own technology to develop global technology for electric vehicles (EV) The company Arrival (NASDAQ: ARVL) cooperates to provide Arrival’s cars with leading semiconductor technology and products, including automotive microcontrollers, power management and battery management products.

Arrival designated STMicroelectronics as one of its main partners in the industrialization of connected electric vehicles. As part of the entire travel ecosystem, ST’s leading technology will be used to provide future-oriented zero-emission commercial vehicles to Arrival’s customers. Arrival uses STMicroelectronics’ high-performance safety car gauge microcontrollers to develop a modular ECU platform, and uses ST’s smart power supply and battery management product technologies to design efficient electric vehicle power systems.

Arrival believes that its vehicles represent the next generation of electric vehicles developed from scratch using a new design and production method. This vertical integration method using hardware, software and robotics developed in-house can produce vehicles in scattered small and micro factories. These small and micro factories can be deployed all over the world to meet the needs of local communities, and promote the economic development of local communities by hiring local talents, using local supply chains and paying local taxes.

All Arrival models, including vans, buses, and recently released electric taxis designed in cooperation with Uber, will use ST technology. Arrival has obtained UPS procurement contracts for up to 10,000 electric vehicles (and optionally an additional purchase of 10,000 electric vehicles), and will begin vehicle trials at the end of this year.
